A Few Words About FMP
Rising Nature awareness while promoting a more sustainable tourism, rewilding urban areas & protecting biodiversity is the purpose of this project and website.
Why fullmoonparty.com?
I've seen the pristine beaches of Haad Rin where the Full Moon Party is held every month in the 80's, a few huts with no electricity, just generators usually stopping at 9PM, no roads, no cars and sometimes no cold drinks as bad weather were stranding the only boat carrying ice from the other island of Koh Samui. Gekko running around the hut at night, bear foot all day, bonfire at night, and... it was paradise.
A few decades forward and the magical place has been transformed to a mass tourist destination, one of the largest party place in the world, but nature has paid its price. The worst is that I am part of that destruction, I love traveling in remote places, discovering different cultures and meet new people from around the world, but like it or not, I left plastic bottles and my share of unrecyclable trash just like a pirate leaves its victims behind.
So how can we reduce our footprint while traveling?
With this site, I hope contributing in rising awareness so that many more people join the fight to protect, rewild, create a sustainable world so we can carry on with a sustainable Full Moon Party!
